Sonya Farrar
Also known as Silly Sonya started as a youth theatre member with South Leeds Youth Theatre (SLYT) at 19 years of age which fuelled her passion for theatre, which led her to go on and study firstly at Thomas Danby College studying Performing Arts, where she played many roles such as Dee in "Whale Music", Valerie in "Road", Mary in "Love Story of the Century" and Helga (dancer) in "Cabaret".
Before moving on to study at Nottingham for a Higher National Degree in Community Performance. Here she gained her first job with Leeds City Council for Shatterproof Theatre, working with adults with special needs and then returned to South Leeds Youth Theatre (whilst still studying) as a worker leader.
After completing her course Sonya joined Harrogate Theatre and is now an established theatre practitioner and is also working with many other Theatre companies as a Theatre in Education (TIE) actor such as "Blah blah blah", "Stride Theatre", "North East Theatre Company" and many others. Her Passion is to use theatre as an empowering tool to help young people become better performers and have the same drive, passion and energy for performing as she has. Please note that Sonya is completely mad.
Liz Hudson - Principal of Menston Performing Arts and choreographer (when pushed).
Liz has been in the entertainment industry since the age of 5yrs old, and has performed on various stages and in television.
Vicky Turland - Come along and join Vicki on wednesday evenings for Irish dancing/tap 3.50 - 4.40 pm. Vicki has competed in various UK dance competitions for 10 years, in various disciplines from ballet, to modern, Greek, character and national. However, tap was always her first love. Being a huge fan of Irish music (including Riverdance and Lord of the Dance), it was only a matter of time before Vicki started to branch out into Irish dancing, both 'soft shoe' and 'hard shoe'. For years this has been a secret passion, know only to close family (who wear earplugs as they watch her wear out the garage floor). But now Vicki wants to teach others about this fantastic and fun way to dance.
Sharon Cameron has recently joined us. Teacher of ballet, salsa, jazz, modern, and street dance.
